PS3 controller - matte finish - Blu-ray Forum

is there anyway to prevent the matte finish from wearing off? .. or slow down the process. I have OCD so I wash my hands religiously and before use .. doesnt seem to help

You could use a decal to protect it (and add some style too). I don't personally worry too much about it as I treat my PS3 gear pretty well, but you might try a site like DecalGirl. They produce vinyl decals with adhesive that you can place on your various electronics, including PS3 controllers and consoles.

Oh I do as well ... like i said, I'm diagnosed with OCD =P ... but it seems like the matte finish comes off no matter what

The decal is a solution but I never really liked decals.

Well, you either protect the matte finish by covering it, or don't use it.

There's not a whole lot of other options unless you want to spray down your controllers with polyurethane or something.

. Besides, the decals are removable if you don't like them or if you want to change them.

How does having clean hands make the matte finish come off the controller?

Are you sure the finish coming off is just not from over use?

I wouldn't say from over use. More like from day to day use. Every controlers finish wears off after a while, it's just a fact of life
