Yea, yea, yea. I know. It's 720. I've really been wanting to upgrade. I plan on getting 1080p within the next few months.
I have had this TV for around a year and a half now. Anyone know how long it should last? My settings: Mode - Standard... Dynamic looks best, but it may wear down the TV (may not matter since I'm going to be upgrading Backlight - 8/10 Contrast - 95/100 Brightness - 45/100 Sharpness - 50/100 Color - 50/100 Tint (G/R) - G50/R50 Anybody have any suggestions on what I should change the settings to? Could I be getting better picture or am I putting my TV at risk of dying on me soon? |

I wouldn't worry about wearing out your television, most box stores have their displays on the Dynamic (or Vivid, etc.) picture mode for the entirety of their store display life. Given that most of these stores are open 10-13 hours a day, every day, and the displays are likely on even longer, the amount you would use your set in comparison is very little. Not to mention most display model TVs are sold right off the shelf after 8-12 months (as many as 5000 viewing hours on Dynamic) and work just fine for years.
