Default My new dedicated home theatre room and home office

Hi. l just uploaded some photos of my newly converted Colourbond Steel Garage to my profile.

It was a process that has taken 2 months of blood sweat and a few tears.
We are very happy with the end result. Let me know what you think.

Some people here, dream of one day having a dedicated room. You've got a dedicated building. Very nice job.

One of the Finest Jobs,I have ever seen.
If I had not seen pics of the Transformation Process,I would be hard pressed to believe it was the same building.

The Office is Incredible.
Looks as Professional(and even more so)then many Businesses I go into.Exceptionally Well done.

While The Home Theater is On Another Level, all together.
Love the carpeting thru out.Very nice looking, but looks very durable also.

Your seating area is something out of one of my dreams.I would Love to have a seating area, like that. When you are in a comfortable environment, and are comfortable in your seating arrangement;watching a Movie becomes a Hundred Times Better.
As you can devote 100% of yourself to the Image and sound that places you right in the middle of the action.

Excellent choice with the Widescreen and the Sharp Projector.A Large,Sharp Video seems to make you feel like you are not just watching the movie;but are in the movie.
Also the Harman Kardon AVR is a Great Choice for consistant quality and performance. While Boston Acoustics produces some wonderful Speakers.Equally at home with Music and Movies.

I just want to say,Excellent Work and what you have done with that building is beyond any words I could think of to Truly Explain how Amazed and Overcome I am.

You have provided Inspiration to so many people, its a Blessing.

As they look at what they have to work with, and say:"There Is No Way I Can Get This To Be My Home Theater".

All they have to do is look at your thread and your pictures to see that "Anything IS Possible!!!"

l have my dad to thank for that. He is now retired after working for 30 years in the shop fitting industry. He measured up, drew the plans, worked out all the costings and researched all the products for me.
Being a steel garage, soundproofing was essential. Everything from the insulation, plasterboard to the acoustic rated downlights and the door seals he researched and came up with the best solution. l was really just his labourer. The only things we had done by other people was the electrical work, the carpet and the home theatre installation.

Looks great, I love the fact that you used that space for a dedicated home theater like you did. Aesthetically pleasing, clean and with great equipment. The fact that you paid attention to the acoustics in that steel structure speaks volumes (no pun intended... ) You did a great job, congrats!

Few questions for you. Do you currently have that shelving slid all the way over like underneath the screen? I'd have it centered underneath the screen to give it a more symmetrical look. Just looks out of place not centered. That room is just asking for bigger speakers also. Any planned upgrades to get different speakers? Great job transforming things. Looks good!

Plan was and still is to have a small cabinet in the corner to house components only. l just haven't been able to find something suitable. Trend seems to be at the moment for long lowline entertainment units.
l would prefer for the components to be at the side therefore not sitting under the screen and drawing attention away from the screen. Especially with the distracting lights components have on them. Therefore when construction was underway, we had all power points and and cable hole put in that corner.
