It kind of makes sense...

Right = desire for better specification, allow market to decide.
Left = support the other format just to spite big bad Sony.

You could also phrase it as:

Right = support for, and belief in something
Left = demagoguery AGAINST something

well, i can only guess what side you were on!

HA! what does that even mean? "right=support for, and belief in something" not to mention, is microsoft as worse if not more worse than sony? your theories are very weak and unfounded, but thats the "right's" way! ;-)

my theory is liberals, who on average acheive higher education in school, are more educated and have more interest in the players/specs in this war and would choose blu ray bc of this. but. I understand the fact that the people on this site tend to have buttloads of money and are probably conservative.

Those two beliefs actually are completely wrong. A lot of wealthy people are liberal as much as they are conservative. A lot of well educated people are liberal and conservative. In fact almost all objective polling shows the break to be fairly even when you weigh the extremely smart and extremely stupid.

point taken, but....actually, not wrong. yes, if you pick apart the data you can get it to show what you want. BUT, our country is mostly middle, and in the middle, the higher educated tend to be more liberal. thats a fact, just like the higher IQ are less likely to participate/believe in organized religion.

its not true that most people on this site have more money than your average citizen? or did you mean that the more money you have the more conservative you are? bc, thats also true.

I understand you must be careful when using these stats, but I also understand that there is truth in them.

Can someone end this threat before it gets ugly. Keeps your politics to yourself. In real life, it'll just get you punched in the face.

Since we're talking about a CE device here, I'll put on my fiscal hat and vote Right/Blu-ray.

I can see some moron from TGdaily picking up these poll results as proof of [insert whacked scenario here] and declaring the end of Blu-ray.

Anecdotal at best.

The leadership of the party of the left has a vested interest in keeping people, especially in voting blocks that support them, in their place, even if it's not in those people's best interest. They do this through promises they don't deliver on and programs that they say will make things better even though anyone who follows the results of the program through to the logical end can see it will actually make things worse.

By adding Paramount to the mix, using a blatant bribe, HD-DVD is fooling its supporters into thinking it will actually help them get all the movies they want, when the truth is that it does nothing but keep them from those movies for at least another year and a half.

To carry the analogy, Microsoft wants to help HD-DVD not make things better so that it can eventually step in as a third party and offer its version of hi-def where you repeatedly pay for the same movie every time you want to watch it.
