The 2009-10 season: What did you start watching?

Rather than use this one as a guessing game, I thought instead I'd use it as a springboard for people to talk about what new shows they picked up over the course of the just-completed 2009-10 season. (And, yes, I know "Justified" is a cable show and is still airing, and that the idea of the "official" TV season is fairly antiquated, but we're in a lull here for a bit, so work with me, okay?)

This was a very strong year for new product, I thought. You're lucky to get one great new comedy in a season, and this year we got two in "Community" and "Modern Family." (Three if you want to act like the six-episode debut season of "Parks and Recreation" last spring didn't happen.)

Alan Sepinwall created a fun discussion for us, and I figured I'd bring it here and see what everybody else added to their roster over the last season. My list of newly added freshman shows is as follows:

I said freshman shows only, shows that debuted last year or early this year. So Psych, True Blood, Burn Notice, Castle and Fringe don't count.....

I surprisingly started watching quite a few this year, after none last year.

I also watched the first 4 episodes of V and thought it was decent, but didn't start watching after the break. I didn't think odds were good for a renewal, but I might rent the Blu-ray and give it another chance because I heard it got good near the end of the season.

I too gave up early on this show, and than a few days ago had a marathon and watched all 13 episodes over the weekend. It was much better in marathon form, and turned out to be a damn good show. I went from not caring about it's potential cancellation to really looking forward to it's second season. You might find yourself in a similar situation.

Those are the ones i will continue to see next season. I give pretty much every new show a shot but i ended up giving up on V, Flashforward, Vampire Diaries, Trauma and many more. My DVR normally goes crazy with recording for a few weeks till i find out what i like and i don't.
