Anyone know if they have any plans to release the old TV show on blu?...just wondering before I go out and buy it on Standard DVD...Thanks.

Unfortunately, no news. It would be nice to see at least the first season released at the same time as the new movie to see how it sells.

too bad this is only a dvd box set. i've been streaming them from netflix. all 5 seasons are available.

An early '80s show on Blu? Doubtful. The only way that could happen, and it's entirely possible, that it was filmed on 35mm film rather than on NTSC video. Because this was in a time prior to any kind of CG or even post-production visual effects on video, like what ST:TNG did, theyt could possibly clean-up and scan the original film elements into a plausible HD master.

it was filmed in 35mm, so the transfer might happen. if it were going to you would think it would coincide with the (new) movie release.

Thats what I figured as well, unless they're waiting for the movie to be released on Blu before they release season 1.
