I will worry about it if it happens which I doubt. Do people live in fear or what?

Perhaps because they aren't seeing the yield numbers they need to make it viable?

Warner is pushing Total HD to keep their IP in the game, not out of some love for Blu-ray. It's limitted to 25GB at this time.

No, don't ignore it. Take it very seriously.

It's hard to know how much Warner is being influenced, but they are being influenced RIGHT NOW. I suggest everyone do what they can to help. If it turns out not to be the case, no harm (and some good) done.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP- Paramount and Warner

Well if the idiotic idea TotalHD is all that is keeping Warner neutral, we are in big trouble. The Blu-ray on one side HD DVD on the other is the stupidest idea I have ever heard of and I don't think it will ever exist, other than just as a stupid idea. Going HD DVD exclusively would give Warner a way out of that without sounding too stupid. Otherwise what can they say, we woke up and realized the idea was really dumb and decided not to go forward with it?

Someone delete this nonsense thread. Rumors start like this and cause panic so quit listening to HD-DVD fanboys.

I think that the BDA should offer Warner some "incentive" to stay format nuetral....

Or go excluisive.

I'd say there's easily better than a 50/50 chance of it now myself.

I think we stand a good chance of going back to pre launches status quo which means: Universal, Paramount, and WB being the big studios for HD-DVD and Fox, MGM, Disney, and SPE backing Blu-Ray.

Usually when there is this much back and forth on a rumor (if it isn't true) then the studio usually makes an announcement stating that they are still behind the format etc. I am hoping we get that by Friday...should we not, It could mean bad things.

Warner would be nuts to go HD DVD only...out of all the studios their making the most money being neutral. There not going anywhere.

Yeah. It's a big rumor picking up steam.

"It's something I don't want to believe so that means it's not true and I don't want to see it anyways" doesn't help or change anything, unfortunately.

Where do you get that from? I have no reason to believe, other than the payments received by the studios to support a format, no company is making any money at all on either format. Warner may have minimized losses by being neutral, but Warner has not claimed to be making a profit as far as I know. If they did, I would like to see proof, the sales volumes are way too low with rare exception. Warner did make money on "300" and "Departed" and a couple of others, but most haven't broken even and overall, it has to be a net loss.

$150 million is a nice payoff to make things "simpler."

I really don't understand how or why people don't see and accept that, yes, Warner going back to the way they were in the beginning, as a sole HD-DVD supporter, is a very real possibility and yes, it's a rumor picking up all kinds of heat.

Sorry if the facts aren't to your liking or advantage, folks. Believe me, I don't like it either.

It is what it is.

Okay Chris they are losing less money than any other studio. Better!
