Since I was not impressed with the other companies motion system I started looking at Sony's move I just watched a video of Sony's Move with Socom 4 and noticed hes not even moving really no moving is necessary which left me scratching my head why not just use the controller? Either way I'm jumping ship to Sony very soon if they can deliver on some great 1st party games. All Microsoft has at this point is Gears. Any ways heres the video I was talking about.

First of all, the PS Move offers an easier way for casual gamers to play "core" games. You move the pointer, in a natural fashion, and pull the trigger. Also, it may help "core" gamers to aim faster and/or more accurately. Of course, some people will still be better with the standard controller. Others will, probably, be able to improve their ranking with the PS Move over the standard controller.
For me, I'm more use to a keyboard and mouse. I'm a fairly recent convert (within the past 4 years) to console gaming. I still can't aim quickly or accurately with the analog stick. The PS Move seems to be a lot closer to a PC mouse to me. From what I've seen, it should make me a lot more competitive in shooters. PS Move can be used for flailing family fun as well. I'm just not as interested in that stuff. |

What I want to know is how important is the Playstation Eye to play SOCOM with the Move controller. I'd like to try it but I'd rather not spend the extra $30 for the Eye if I don't have to.
I know it tracks the ball from the controller but doesn't the controller have a gyroscope and an accelerometer? What difference would there be if I used the Move without the Eye? |

1 move controller, 1 navigation controller, 1 playstation eye. You can also use a dualshock 3 controller isntead of the navigation controller. While it probably is a bit awkward at first , everything is there for you to use and you could save 30 bucks. |

![]() My guess is for the boxing game you would need two move controllers. So if that's true than ya, I guess you would need as much as two move controllers and 1 navigation controller. I'm assuming everything that involves recognizing where your arms are in "space" would require you to have two move controllers whereas the navigation would be to simple move your player in the game. That means 4 move controllers to play 1vs1 boxing ![]() Expensive! Last edited by silversnake; 06-17-2010 at 04:36 AM. |

None come with the move and nav controllers. But you can get the move controller, the eye and a game for pretty decent then get the nav for a little more. That's what i'm doing. I don't think you HAVE to have the two move controllers but for some of the games it'd probably make it easier. |

it makes sense for two reasons:
1 - Sony is trying to make money here and accessories are one of the main ways they can do it 2 - we don't really know yet what purpose the nav controller serves in games, it might make no sense to include it in a bundle where it's not needed. If it were included you may be paying extra for a bundle with a useless controller in it. So far the only bundles that have been announced are ones with no nav controllers, there may be in the future bundles that include it but maybe the release games rely mainly on the main move controller. |

it will totally change the way FPS genre is played on consoles, now you have the reticle in the center of the screen and it always stays in the center of the screen, so you move everything with the reticle in the middle. On PC and arcade (such as House of the dead), you move your reticle everywhere in your vision, making it more realistic (your eye and arms are not connected in real life) and more precise too, it will be the same of course for 3rd person shooters like Uncharted.
