Is Terminator 3 the black sheep of Blu-Ray films ? Like it or hate it, the movie deserves to be accurately represented on HD format. So we got a 1080i picture, then lossy sound while the Europe version got loosless... Now what about the full picture. I mean the big picture. Don't know what I'm talking about ?
Here take a look. Because a picture is worth a thousand words... ![]() ![]() |

So are you saying that the US Blu-ray of T3 is widescreen and 1080i, whilst the Europe Blu-ray is 16:9 and 1080p, because I do remember seeing T3 on television a while ago and the picture suddenly seemed larger compared to my DVD, so was it shot in 16:9 like Avatar?

Here's a recap :
- 1st release on Blu-Ray had problem, with 1080i picture, a replacement program was made and the release is now corrected. However, it has lossy sound. - UK / Europe release have better bitrate and loosless sound. - All Blu releases have a zoomed in picture, especially on the opening scenes, while the HDTV version opens the mattes, to give us the full width and feast for the eyes, as seen above. So yes, you can't see the full beauty of Kristanna Loken on your blu disc. - No home release exists un-zoomed, apart the 4/3 DVD which have the full top and bottom picture, but lack the borders that you can see on the HDTV 1.77 version. IMHO, they should just re-release it in 1.77, Avatar like. As you can see above, that's extremely severe zoomboxing. T3 was shot I think in Super 35, which is approx 1.66:1 when all is exposed. I remember this topic being brought up back when the DVD was released. The 4x3 version of the film actually had the full frame in tact. I thought the widescreen version was just cropping off the top and bottom (like the director intended), but never realized the sides are also getting cropped despite being there in the theater.
