Neither.

The UK one is dull and the german one is the same as the UK amaray.

That would completely depend on is the FSK logo was printed or a sticker.

I think they both have good qualities, the UK on is simple and impactful with the yellow text on the black background, and the German is more action based, regardless of it being the same as the amaray artwork.

If the logo was a sticker, I would go for the German

Cheers

I'd take the UK one. I like nice, simple SteelBooks.

I'll be getting the german version . . .

I'm guessing the UK version will have an empty inside (no art) and that will be to me a great miss.

You can makes such good looking steelbooks with this title . . . it would be a shame if they do not use the full potential this movie has.

Without knowing nothing more than what it is going to look like from conceptual photos, I can not decide. There are WAY TOO many factors for me to consider.

It'll depend on several things, but here are a few:
whether I like the movie or not (haven't seen it yet)
the type of finish, matte or glossy
embossing/debossing
region coding (I think it's a Universal release, so this might not matter since it'll most likely be region-free)
inside artwork present
artwork on the back vs. information printed
printed FSK logo vs. sticker
final price needed to obtain a copy
exclusive to one site/store vs. main release for that country (this will determine whether I want/need to get a copy now or just wait for a price drop or pick it up via trade down the road)

If the UK one has better artwork inside, then I'd probably go that route 'cos even if it has information printed on the back of it, the information will be in English (I don't understand German). If it winds up being region-locked, but Germany is region-free, then that might push me to get the German one. If it is indeed region-free for both releases, then it'll mainly depend on which version has the most of what I want (inside artwork, embossing/debossing, artwork on the back, cheaper than the other one)

I can settle one of those factors for you right now. The UK one is going to be a Universal release so the info on the back IS going to be printed on and not a sticker. And if Wolfman is anything to go by (another Universal release), then it won't have any interior artwork.

How many Universal Titles have been released in UK and in Germany? The only one I can think of thus far is Wanted. The german one was embossed and the UK one wasn't.

I dunno if that is indication at all, so just forget I said it

I'm gonne base my Decision on whether there is printing on the back, or on a paper. If printed on the Steel, I will go for the UK one since I prefer English writing

There's always hope. Gladiator was a Universal Release, and it has artwork inside. Granted, it was released awhile back, and Wolfman was released recently. I don't mind if information is printed on the back, but I like it more when it is a scene from the movie gracing the back of the SteelBook. Like I said, I'll have to compare the two of them before deciding on which one to get.

Does anyone know if the UK release will be region free, or playable in region A?

It's a Universal title, and most of the time, you can bet Universal will release it region-free.

I think the UK version is plain ugly. If I like the movie, is the German for sure.

The cover art for both... sucks, but because it's one of my favorite films of all time, I'm getting them all.
