Among Daniel Craig's Bond films, in general (there can always be exceptions) most fans would put Casino Royale at the top, and Quantum of Solace and SPECTRE would compete for the 4th and 5th place.
That leaves Skyfall and No Time to Die to compete for the 2nd spot. Which one would you place at #2? |

To me, both Skyfall and No Time to Die appear to be more or less on par.
Skyfall is loosely based on the book The Man with the Golden Gun (1965). Minor issues that I have with this film include a) it becomes a Roaul Silva film once Javier Bardem makes his entrance, bringing a touch of The Dark Knight's Joker to the film, and b) 2nd half loses steam if one has to nitpick. Talking about nitpicking, Bond goes through all the trouble to capture Silva only to later discover that it was Silva's plan to get caught. Positives include the action-packed pre-title sequence. Most of the segments till Silva gets captured on the abandoned Japanese island are exciting. Let's not forget the cinematography by Roger Deakins. No Time to Die is controversial (and not loved by many) because of its end. Having read Ian Fleming's 007 books, he attempted to insinuate that in From Russia with Love (1957). Something similar is attempted in Anthony Horowitz's continuation 007 novel - With a Mind to Kill (2022), which takes place after the event in the book The Man with the Golden Gun. If you come to terms with the end, it feels like one of the classic Bond films, especially the pre-title sequence with the Aston Martin firing and the Jamaica-Cuba segment. The car chase sequence in Norway is good too. Over the years, I had wondered if the poison garden concept in Fleming's book You Only Live Twice (1960) would be filmed, and I am happy that it has finally been utilized in a film. As for the negatives, maybe the London segment, which can be termed as relatively slow. This is a close race. On this occasion, I am going with No Time to Die! I really liked Skyfall but Casino Royale is the best Craig's movie for me. Maybe I watched it a lot when calibrating my displays...
