I just bought these last year couldn't wait! The PQ on both are great but the audio is pretty poor, good for an upgrade over the DVD though...

Maybe they have had fresh remasters.

Sorry for dredging up such an old thread, but has the UK version of this sold out?
I'm tempted to go for the German one instead, but I always worried about potential menu/subtitle issues......

Think it's been OOP for a couple of years. Remember picking it up in the HMV 5 for 30. Seeing as it's Fox, you're probably best getting whatever release you can. The German BD will be the exact same disc as the UK one.

Aye, the big bad Disney buyout has made these 20th Century Fox titles a bit difficult to find.

Unless you're fussed about english on the cover then buy it from europe.

Thanks, really appreciate the fast replies there

I've no problem with the language on the cover really, just always a bit cautious when it comes to euro-titles in case the menus are tricky to navigate or you get some hard-encoded subtitles.

I'll spring for the German release so

Hi, which sounds better the DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 or the Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround?
Just wondering as the UK copy only has the 5.1 and I know some older films like the Bond films and the original Terminator sound much better in their original audio.

If the 2.0 Surround is superior I’ll sell the UK copy and import a US copy.

Interesting to note Romancing the Stone is back in print in the US with cloned discs via the Mill Creek/Disney deal.

I wonder if mill creek have fixed the sound? both the US and UK blurays have muffled 5.1

the foreign language tracks are ok but not the 5.1

it sounds fine on disney plus and also on the old dvd so it was a coding error that was never fixed

Doubt it, it's the exact same disc with 20th Century Fox logos on startup etc, so the borked audio will be the same most probably.
I bought the Mill Creek disc of Coyote Ugly recently and it's got all the tedious Disney previews and menus from 2008. Only mention of Mill Creek is on the back.

How is the 2.0? Is that muffled as well or does that sound fine?
