I have ripped all my CD's to my computer using WMP creating lossless WMA files to preserve audio quality as I stream music to my home receiver. Now I've installed a Pioneer avic x920bt in my truck that plays audio from USB, MicroSD, and my phone via BT. This unit only plays audio files that are up to 320kbps. My files are at 900kbps to 1500kbps. I need to downgrade / convert my lossless audio files to compressed lossy files (in a different directory / folder of course) at 320 kbps (or 192 kpbs to save some space) for playback in my truck. The Pioneer will play WAV, WMA, MP3 and AAC.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to (preferably free!) software to accomlish this task? Winamp will convert from wma to wav, which the pioneer can read but maintains the bitrate at the high lossless level. is there a plugin that will do what I want in winamp? Thanks. |
