Default digital copy

so ive never had an issue with a digital copy before. I bought the green zone and installed the digital copy but when i went to play it all i got was a grey screen. I read some forums and they said to de authorize and reauthorize the itunes account but still no go. just curious if anyone else ever had an issue like this?

I think this sounds like my first experience with iTunes movies. Do you hear the sound, but have no picture? If this is your problem, try double clicking on the movie title in iTunes before you click the play button. That worked for me.

It's not just the Green Zone. Yesterday I installed the DC of Zombieland which I bought months ago... Gray screen. But I also updated iTunes to 9.2 earlier that day, so it might be an issue with the latest update.

I can't stand digital copies, I wish I could get a cheaper version of the movie minus the digital copy!

Agree. My digital copies are nothing but coasters. Especially considering that for more than half of them, I've lost the piece of paper with the activation code. (I'd been keeping them all separately somewhere, rather than in the case with the movie, and then I lost them. I'm sure they're around somewhere, but I can't really be bothered to look.)

Those and DVD copies. I just don't need them. And in a few cases, they're problematic, such as when it forces a 3-disc set, which results in those terrible cases with the flap to hold two of the discs.

Perhaps if you didn't remove the code from the case you wouldn't loose them?

I'm not complaining that I've lost them. They were basically trash as far as I'm concerned. Hell, I'm not completely convinced that I didn't just throw them away. I always remove those stupid pieces of paper from BDs when I buy them, because they're annoying.

And like I said, they're around, I just can't be bothered to look for them. I'm now keeping any new ones I get inside my Bourne Trilogy box, and if/when I find the missing ones, I'll throw them in there too and then forget about them again.

I have had this problem as well! the digital copies I put on months ago work just fine, the 3 recent ones just give me the gray screen, the itunes support has had me do a few things and nothing has worked. i leave for vacation on saturday and was going to buy an itouch to watch movies on during the long flight, but i keep holding off not knowing if the digital movies that are gray screen will transfer and play or not! anyone know if the digital copies that play just the gray screen transfer and actually play the movie?

My digital copy of Alice in Wonderland worked fine on my PC so it's probably an iTunes issue as indicated above.

If I was to transfer a movie that only plays a gray screen on my computer, will it play the movie or the gray screen on my device?

I transferred digital copy of Green Zone into my iphone and the movie play on the device. No problem at all, just that it cannot play on my PC with itunes 9.2 (grey screen).

Guys... you are not alone! I had the same problem trying to watch my digital copy of "17 Again." I had just downloaded the movie that same day I installed the new Itunes update (Windows) and all I saw was a gray screen with no audio. Not sure If I'm allowed to post another link within this thread, I apologize in advance for doing so, but just want to make it clear to you guys that everyone has been having this same issue and have been frustrated over the fact that ITunes support has not done a thing about this situation.
See for yourself:

And those are just two separate threads of people complaining, I've seen a couple more...
