Default Something is going on at Amazon

I can't believe this. right now the top sellers of all discs categories are Bluray discs.
I mean they are selling more than DVD's !!!
how is that possible ???
I double checked cause I thought I was looking at the Bluray section only but nope, i'm in the DVD - HDDVD - Bluray all mixed together category.

before the Warner announcement, there was never a Bluray disc or HD-DVD to be seen in the top 10 or 15 (with rare exceptions) and it was common to see the first Bluray or HDDVD title at position 20 or 25

It's because of the BOGOF, which includes the first 4 Potters.

Isn't there a BOGO sale on at Amazon on select BDs? I think that would explain it.

Maybe this is what people who were waiting for an end of the format war were waiting for. hopefully they will jump in and snap up some Blu ray players and movies now.

There have been plenty of BOGOF sales before for both Red and Blu but I've never seen an HD disc take the top spot !!! not just the top spot, the top 4 are all blu

I think -- I THINK, could be wrong -- that Blu-ray held at least the top 25 the day after the recent BOGO started (4 Potters deal).

It's because there is a BOGO on Warner and Fox titles and 50% off on Disney titles. It's a great way for people to jump ship and come to the Blu side and get a good deal on re-starting their hi-def disc collection.

The Harry Potter movies have held the 1-4 spots for most of the week (except for a day in which they were sold out, and not available in the BOGOF). In fact, at one point blu-ray held the 1-6 spots in Amazon movie sales rankings.

That thread posted by beatboy was VERY misleading..It referred to the 25 HD spots, DVD was NOT included. Blu-ray did held the top 1-6 spots in Amazon movie sales rankings (including DVD).

Yeah, amazon just shipped my four Potters today. But, heck, with everyone now knowing the Warner decision, people could be stocking up on this BOGO more than ever because they know Blu is inevitable and BOGOs could go the way of HD DVD!

I was checking on amazon. How does the BOGO work? I looked around and it seemed like you would order blu-rays as normal without a BOGO option. I there a coupon code or something that you have to type in?

Click this link.
Choose which titles you want, and the savings will show up on the last page before you confirm you order.

It started with 96 titles and it's down to 80.

I know I went in Best Buy tonight and I barely had room to look at the bd's. I saw
no less than 30-40 bd's picked up while I was getting mine, and several people were
talking about the WB announcement. It's great!

Ya, BD beat HD-DVD and then defeated DVD in the same weekend. Next week BD will find Osama Bin Laden and cure scurvy. Damn, Sony is smooth.
