Default Getting an HDTV; need help!

I am new here. I have a quick question. I had my heart set on a Samsung 46" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
Model: LN-T4665F. Then I was at my buddy’s parents house and that’s what they have down in their basement. I was really excited until I started watching it. They were watching a preseason football game, and to me it seemed way to blurry to spend over $2500.00 on it. So after seeing it myself I didn’t like it so I thought about getting a different one. I am now thinking about getting the Samsung - 50" 1080p Slim-Depth DLP HDTV
Model: HLT5087S. I would be using my 60 gig PS3 to watch my BD movies. I need to know if this TV w/ my PS3 would be good and what other add ons, such as cables I would need to buy for an awesome 1080P experience for my gaming and movies needs. The problem is that I have my PS3 already (and have had it since February) but no HDTV yet. I don’t want to spend more than $2000.00-$2500.00 on the TV AFTER tax, and it HAS to be in 1080P. I have my heart set on the DLP listed above, so I would hope that you guys can stick to that with ideas to make it better. Thanks!
