I watched the Pilot episode last night from the German HD broadcast. Obviously the Blu-ray will look better, but i was very impressed with the image quality and the 1.78:1 aspect ratio looked really good.

It's like we have always had a compromised version of the show, and now we are seeing it for the first time as it was intended to be seen.

I bought all of the digipack dvds on the original release dates, they all cost £80 + so well over £700 for the lot.

Can't believe i paid that much, there not even very good quality compared to other releases at the time. So if they want silly money for the Blu-rays i will wait until they are heavily discounted.

I wouldn't be surprised by a £40/50 price tag per season.

I think if it were Paramount we'd be screwed but hopefully FOX will be different. I might get season one but I'll wait for a complete set for the rest (all my favourites are in the first few seasons). I'd hope for a full set initially but I doubt we'll get that. I don't think studios can charge silly money these days unless it's done right (and it's a Star Trek series!).

Hi

I thought, well presumed by what I read that it would be a complete boxset as opposed to season by season. They do not mention individual season sets. Also Twin Peaks is going to be a complete boxset. I cannot see this being season by season as they will want to include the films. Then again I could be wrong.
As for the letter box well I would prefer 4.3 but like they say they are going back to the original stock which makes the first 4 seasons ideal for 16.9 any other thoughts on this??

Regards,

Slim.

Members have been digging trenches for each side. They may have a game of footie on Christmas day and watch Fight the Future holding hands but they're not going anywhere ...

Yes, they will move on to the next battlefield, they have already done Friends and Star Trek. Maybe there will be a skirmish in the Twin Peaks thread?

Good to hear they're going back to the original film negatives and adjusting the aspect ratios. Can't wait for it!

Better prepare my wallet, though.
