Sadly no sign of Manhunter for real thrills. All comedy here. Good for people who like sequels

I'm surprised that Universal can release Silence Of The Lambs in the UK - I thought the rights were owned by MGM.

I agree about Manhunter - we definitely need that one on Blu!

Manhunter is on the comedy boxset in the USA/Canada but there's just no ****ing way I can bring myself to shell out all that cash to have the other films foisted upon me. I hoping for a Japanese single release.

A lot of old DEG (De Laurentis Entertainment Group) rights are with MGM but there are some rights held by Universal in Europe and slightly dodgy IMO deals going back 20+ years with a sharing of some Orion product. And it may just suit MGM locally to box the stuff together of course.

The De Laurentis name contiues albeit free from that company's bankruptcy with Dino's relatives -and they continue to cash-in on DEG's great Manhunter by remaking the great film again and again. And again.

I'm cool with that as it brings people to the original film hopefully.

That cover art is awful! I still have the individual releases so I'll stick with them!

The individual releases are cheaper as well. Hannibal is £6 instore @ HMV currently, and the others won't add up to the cost of this box set.

I don't know how popular it was, but IMHO it's a much better film than Hannibal.

^ Personally, I'd disagree. Very frustrated by the lack of a standalone Manhunter (one of my favourite films). Don't want to re-buy Silence & an inferior copy of Hannibal as part of the US boxset merely for one film, but am SERIOUSLY considering it...

Exactly, I think box sets are rip off's for trilogy's like these, when they are far cheaper individually.

Already have Silence of the Lambs, and I only want to add Manhunter.

No go from me.

I picked up this boxset whilst on holiday in Jersey back in July and it is an excellent buy.

Funny thing was HMV in Jersey sold it me for £14.99 whilst my HMV here in Nottingham is currently trying to sell the same boxset for £30.00 reduced from £45.00 or something.

Default Was the Hannibal Blu-ray ever fixed?

I've had it for more than two years now and I know that there's a problem with the whole movie being vertically stretched as seen here.

Now, I read somewhere that the disc was fixed quietly in later pressings. So just for the hell of it, I decided to contact Amazon about this and see if they'd be willing to replace it even though it's been more than two years. Well, believe it or not, they're sending a new copy free of charge and I don't even have to return the old one.

So my question is - can someone confirm that the disc was indeed fixed?

Yes, they fixed it. It now matches the framing of the US release. I found it in HMV and it surprised me that they'd actually bother to fix it.
