Default Xbox 360 in HD

If the Xbox360 is not a blu ray player, how can its games and streaming content be HD?

Well, your PC isn't a blu-ray player... and yet, it can display at resolutions well above 1080p. The disc format has nothing to do with the resolution at which the video chipset and the game assets display.
