Default 1080p BR Output to a 1080i Capable TV

Given if ITC is turned on at the BR player and HDMI output is used, will a BR player outputing 1080p via HDMI into a TV that has 1080i as its highest res capability (such as a Sony 60XBR950 rear projection) have the material down converted at the TV to 1080i ?

Yes, you can set the player to 1080i if your TV doesn't do 1080p. That's what most of us will have to do.

If the TV can't accept 1080p then it will be converted in the player to whatever format you want the player to output. This should include 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i.
