No Blades of Glory For Target - Blu-ray Forum

Yep sad to inform everyone all Target stores will not be receiving any copies of Blades of Glory on Tuesday, might be an empty spot but no copies will hit stores. Got an email today about this today so now anyone who was gonna try Target doesn't have to.

Not one single copy will be sent out to Targets.

Edit: They will get HD DVD and standard DVD's but no Blu Ray.

If you are talking about the whole Paramount/Dreamworks thing then yes i know, if it is something else then no. And some people thought including me that we might get a few that slipped by, its happened before i was just wanting to confirm we wouldn't get any.

Blackhawktraffic (or anyone else) do you have the upc for the blu-ray Blades of Glory? I can't pull up an item in the system at my work with out a upc. I am curious if we will get any.

I could only get you a DPCI for the item, not the actual UPC code.

Darn, oh well. I will scour the back room Monday and mayhaps a few will have slipped in. Odder things have happened.

Yeah i know, its funny what things come in and stuff when you work for a place that carries Electronics, movies and such. I honestly am still surprised by some stuff that happens.

i ordered it from amazon.ca and it still shows that it will ship aug 28, not sure if this will change

I ordered mine last night too, so far its still coming to my house on Aug 30. The website says it updates every day so so far so good..... We will see !

I had another idea, you know how Wal-Mart people are so out of the loop and they get their inventory weeks in advance, I was going to check there at midnight Tuesday, as they might be nieve enough to display the movie, without even noticing the error til the next morning

Worth a try, but most likely Paramount stopped any from being sent out.

They don't exist.

If Paramount had pressed 50,000 copies of BoG on Blu-ray then they would have been released as normal and P/DW would have made their exclusive deal effective from September 1st. It wouldn't be that big a deal. Microsoft were mainly concerned about making Shrek 3 & Transformers HD DVD exclusive for the Christmas season.

I'm not sure why people aren't aware that this deal was in place before BoG went to production. IMO no Blu-ray discs were pressed by P/DW following production of Disturbia (presumably the deal was done too late to pull the plug on this title).

If tens of thousands of copies of BoG on Blu-ray were pressed then we WILL know about it - at least one would escape. But if you're expecting to see a copy I'm afraid you'll be in for a long wait (at least 18 months).

Good point, just dont see why they would have the info sent to stores like it was still coming. But hey who cares now?

the only thing I dont understand is why amazon.com has cancelled it, but amazon.ca and amazon.co.uk still are scheduling it to ship

I thought the exclusivity deal was only in the US. So had they already pressed copies they could be sold internationally, like in Canada.

It'll be interesting to see if BoG ends up on Canadian store shelves Tuesday. I'll check Futureshop on Tuesday since it was in thier weekly flyer yesterday.

One of my local store's managers told me they received a e-mail a few days ago telling them they wouldn't be receiving it
