Default Buying a Sammy C540/C550

I'm new to the plasma scene and will upgrade soon. I was talking with an associate from a store about this TV and the 550. He said the only difference is that the 550 has 1 ore hdmi port, is that all the difference between them? The C540 is going for $1199 Cdn but he is telling me he can give it to me for $1079 with the standard 30 day protection. If I want a 4 yr protection it's $220 more. Should I see if I can go lower with the price?

So I was talking with the same associate and he is selling me the 50" C540 for $1299 with a 4 year warranty. Is this a good deal?

I live in Barrie, ON Canada and noticed that prices compare to the states. TV are very expensive. I'm looking to get a 1080p set but everything is still in the $1000-$1100 range for us.

I can't get confirmation whether this C550 does support 1080/24? Anyone?

I bought a pn58c550 and it is SWEET after breaking it in (100 hrs in less than a week, I recieved some calibration settings from this forum (somwhere!) and I am absolutley amazed at the picture. 360 looks like heaven on it. Blu Ray is stunning. I was on the fence about an LED or Plasma from samsung, but I am really glad I bought this plasma. Save up an extra $500 and get the 58 incher, you will not be dissapointed. I dont belive i will enter the theater ever again. If you do wind up buying the 50, I'm sure the calibration setting between te 58 and the 50 are the same. Let me know if you would like the settings I'm running.
