Just returned from seeing this wonderful movie. Couldn't find any threads here so I'd thought I'd start one for discussion.
Watching The Butler gave me that same feeling I had when I first saw Forrest Gump. To watch one mans journey through the years. The casting was amazing, Forest Whitaker was just so perfect for this role and to see Oprah shining on screen took me back to The Color Purple. The casting for Presidents Johnson, Eisenhower and Reagan were inspiring, I was shocked when I first heard who was cast as Ronald Reagan, but what shouldn't have worked actually did really well. I love that the story took us right up to 2008. Last edited by cudzndrips; 11-17-2013 at 04:30 PM. |
