I watched it last night and it looks very nice. The Blu-ray certainly looks better than the R1 DVD from Tokyo Shock; the DVD looks soft and dim in comparison.

The BD is uncensored as far as I can tell.

It doesn't have the "making of" that is on the R1 DVD, which is too bad. It was quite interesting. The BD is bare bones.

The Blu-ray has adequate English subtitles, but the subtitles on the Tokyo Shock DVD are a bit better. I think they both use the same translation, but the subtitles on the DVD have been cleaned up a little.

Hopefully, there will be more English-friendly BD releases of Takaski Ishii films. I'm interested in his latest, A Night in Nude: Salvation.

PQ on this release is outstanding, however like many Japanese films on Blu-ray, the black level is off. I think this is due to incorrect mastering using Japanese NTSC black level (0-255) rather than the correct video black level. The blacks appear dark greyish rather than black. Other than that, the sharpness and clarity is superb.

Most likely, the master was made with a Japanese DVD in mind. Even so, I agree that it looks great. I've been pretty happy with most of the releases from Panorama. Hopefully they will release the sequel and some of Ishii's other films. I'd like to see his latest film, but the Japanese Blu-ray doesn't have English subs.
