Looks like they're going to spin off production the way IBM did with Lenovo.

So are they going to stop making all of their laptops and desktops too? or is it just a phone/tablet thing?

HP's quality has dropped over the past few years, esp with their Compaq purchase. My laptop's a Compaq and still going, but it's highly problematic. This is kinda sad. The touchpads are selling like hotcakes now that the price has dropped so much on them.
