Easily the remake. If people look at these as two horror films then its a no brainer in my eyes. I know some people got love for older classics as I do but when a film is better its just better no matter remake or not. Got Em!!

The old one definitely! It is one long adventure!! There are so many elements mixed into one movie, that you wíll find new stuff everytime you watch it!
The new one is really good too, but imo it relies too much on "cheap" scares! The intro song/segment in the new one is absolutely amazing though! Gotta say I was really impressed by this movie when comparing it to other remakes! This, and the Last House on the Left remake are probably the two only remakes I really like, besides ofcourse The Thing 2 great movies but I like the old one better if I am to compare them, even though I think they are two entirely different movies! |

'78 version for me.
The problem with the remake is that it is a perfect example of style over substance. That's just who Zach Snyder is as a filmmaker. It's very entertaining, but it doesn't make you think. I could write an entire paper on why the original is better, but I won't get into that here. ![]() |

i didn't base my vote for the 78 version because it was made 1st.To me the 78 feels more realistic in a way maybe because its not so over done like some of the movies that are made today(not sayin that i don"t enjoy today"s horrors)the gray makeup and slow moving zombies just worked out perfectly together and the gory scenes well well done.
