Default Blockbuster to include games in their online program!

Starting Aug. 10th games will be added to their online rental selection at no additional cost to subscribers.

A little bird told me..

Have absolutely no link at all, you'll just have to wait until the 10th to have your confirmation.

So, is it all in one fee - I can swap out a movie for a game, etc.?

Or is this a separate fee for games?

If I can just keep paying my monthly fee and be able to swap a movie for a game at any time, then I'd like this - but I'm not paying two separate montly fees. (They already have a separate monthly fee program for games, but it's in store only).

Movie ship times are pretty good. But I also have a distribution center an hour away in Pensacola. The real problem is the availability of titles. Expect "long wait" for anything new.

This could be a good deal, but their shipping/turn around time is not as good as Netflix or Gamefly in my past experience. It was taking 2-4 days to get a movie from Blockbuster, where Netflix turned around discs in 1 day. But if I can save a decent chunk of $$$ it may be worth the wait.

I'd be more than willing to eat my hat, if I turn out to be wrong, but I'm struggling to buy this... ESPECIALLY without either a price increase, or a change to the length of time you're allowed to hold games...

Is this for a month and then it goes higher or is this a set price?

From what I've heard it's the standard price with no hikes.

I just checked my account, and older games are immediately available to add to my queue. All new releases show availability dates anywhere from early Sep to Nov. (e.g., Lego Harry Potter available 10/12). Assume this is due to all of the new games being claimed in people's queue's for the next couple months out? Either way, it's nice to now have this option at no extra charge.

This is the best news I've heard in a long time.

WAY TO KEEP IN THE GAME, BLOCKBUSTER!! Nice.

Added Uncharted 2, Mario Party 8, and Heavy Rain. I haven't played many games since Silent Hill 3 came out, so this should be a very nice way to catch up on all of the good titles. BIG YES!!

Anyone tried to in-store exchange a movie that was mailed to you with a game in the store? That would make it a lot easier to get a game as my store always has plenty of games for rent.
