Default Vizio ECO 32" vs. Sony Bravia 32"

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Vizio-E320VL/13904831

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sony/13422986

Having a very difficult time choosing between these two. Does anyone with any experience want to help me out?

I'm not sure about the Vizio, but I can tell you that the Sony should be nice. I have this exact model. It's a 40" 1080p 120Hz LCD and I love it! Sony products have never let me down!

Have nothing against Vizio (their product come-uppance has been interesting to observe), but for a mere $16 more, the Sony would be my choice.

I'd get the Vizio.

I would get the Sony Bravia KDL-32BX300. I just got this TV weeks ago. The picture and sharpness is very good once you sent it up right. For PS3 video games and Blu-ray movies, it is very good.
Here is more info on this TV:

I've had a Vizio LCD and a Sony LCD. I had the Vizio first and was really, really impressed with it (especially for the great price). It easily surpassed my parents' and brother's Samsungs.

I just traded it in for a bigger Sony Bravia. Both are good, but Sony is better IMO.

That said, I wouldn't pay $100 more for a 32" Sony over a 32" Vizio.

I've seen 42" LCD's and Plasma's at Fry's for only $50 more ($499).. Why not got that route?

It fluctuates. I just read their add in the morning (their newspaper add, not the online website price..sometimes the same but not always). Today for example they have a 46" Plasma for $549

Model:
PANASONIC TC-P46C2
46" 720p PLASMA HDTV

Edit:

basically the small price disparity from a 32" to a 42" or so just makes getting a 32" not an option for me when I'm ready

FWIW, when I traded in my Vizio I originally got a Sharp Aquos LCD for various (stupid) reasons.

It looked and sounded like absolute garbage. Messing with the settings only made it worse.

So if you see that puppy on sale (and it's on sale at BB for like $100 off right now), pass it by!

I've owned many brands of TVs over the years. While I've never had a Vizio, I have evaluated them in-store. They're okay, but they're not in the same class as Sony. Deciding between a Vizio & a Sony (IMHO) is like deciding between a Kia & a Mercedes.
