La Pucelle Tactics Coming to PS3 as a PS2 Classic

If you like strategy RPGs and demon hunting, you have to check out La Pucelle Tactics. This PlayStation 2 game was one of Nippon Ichi Software's earlier titles. Mastiff licensed the title and localized it while NIS America was setting up shop.

La Pucelle Tactics has a monster training system where you can groom monsters for battle, but if you push them too hard they may run away. Dark Portals are another unique mechanic since they act as respawn points for monsters, but if you can capture the portals you can do a powerful miracle attack.

La Pucelle Tactics will be re-released as a PlayStation 3 download on Tuesday. Hmm… I wonder if this is Mastiff's work or if NIS America got the La Pucelle license back.

I wasnt as crazy about this game as phantom brave and te others butci do think i still hve the strategy guide for it

La Pucelle Tactics came out as a PS2 Classic on Tuesday and as you probably know Nippon Ichi Software developed the title. However, NIS America didn't re-release La Pucelle Tactics on the PlayStation Store. Mastiff did.

Yeah, Mastiff is known for hunting games now, but they used to localize niche Japanese games like La Pucelle Tactics. What’s interesting is they *didn’t* re-release Gungrave Overdose. XSEED picked up that title from Red Entertainment and brought it to the PlayStation Store. Mastiff decided to hold on to La Pucelle Tactics for whatever reason. It's either that or Mastiff renegotiated with Nippon Ichi Software to re-release La Pucelle Tactics for PlayStation 3.

So in other words, they didn't have much problem bringing a direct port of the PS2 version but couldn't be bothered to bring the enhance port for PSP.
