Cold Prey (Fritt Vilt) ![]() Amazon.de link: http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B003...pf_rd_i=301128 Cold Prey 2: Resurrection (Fritt Vilt 2) ![]() Amazon.de link: http://www.amazon.de/Cold-Prey-Resur.../dp/B002WTG1U0 Cold Prey 1 & 2 set (Fritt Vilt 1 & 2) ![]() Amazon.de link: http://www.amazon.de/Cold-Blu-rays-I.../dp/B0053FFF16 Do any of you own or have seen these (German versions)? Any reviews (both video and audio quality) on these titles (specifically the German versions)? More specifically, does anyone know if they have forced German subtitles? this is probably my top burning question. The first one is supposed to have 7.1 DTS-HD MA in both Norwegian and German, and the second one 7.1 German and 5.1 Norwegian both in DTS-HD MA; both include ONLY German subtitles, no English ones unfortunately. All this as stated on the back covers of both movies. The first one also states on its back cover that the video is encoded in 1080i/25. Is that even existent and/or possible? I ordered a blu ray player able to read Region B blu rays and these are ones of my favorite movies; and as they have never been released here in the US in blu ray, I was thinking of importing them from Germany. I know there are French versions for both but I read in another post that they have forced French subtitles so I decided to not buy those even though some said they had good PQ and AQ due to this. I also read in other posts that the Norwegian version of the first one had English subtitles, and both had good PQ and AQ as well, but, the thing is to import them they are like at least $50 each, and it can take up to 2 months to receive them, so I decided against those as well. Other than these, I only know of the German versions to be available. (I do not know of any other country which sells them on blu ray other than these 3). I know these versions (German ones) do not have English subtitles at all but I do not mind as I have seen both plenty of times (I own the DVD UK versions) so I can follow the story line without understanding the dialogue by now. Also, the first one has a 7.1 mix in its original language (only version to feature this ![]() and it won an award for best sound (forgot where) so that should be interesting ![]() Any information on these will be highly appreciated since I can not find any reviews (again, German versions specifically) on neither of these in English. After like 10 (accumulated over about 1 week) hours of browsing through the web trying to find answers to these questions and/or reviews for them I was able to find only two reviews, both in German. I tried Google translate but, well, you know how inaccurate it can be. Any information on these questions and/or reviews for these are very highly appreciated! Thanks in advance guys. I own the 1 & 2 set and I can confirm:
Both discs are Region B locked No English subtitles No forced German subtitles I can't confirm if the first or second movie is 1080i/25 because my Region B player doesn't display such info (my Region A player does). Video and Audio (I only watched both with original audio) are both somewhere between good/very good. Hope this helps. |

Thanks a lot! I was starting to believe no blu ray.com member would own these. It sure helps a lot. I appreciate it!
Yeah its ok that they're both region B locked and have no English subtitles. I am supposed to receive a region B player tomorrow and since I have seen both movies on DVD with English subtitles various times I pretty much know the stories by memory. I am glad they don't have forced German subtitles because I do not know any German btw. As for the quality I am glad both have at least good quality in both aspects. I will also only watch them in their original audio. Thanks again! Last edited by samlop10; 06-27-2012 at 12:30 AM. |
