I guess I should explain a little bit of my situation. Ever since I got my SVS 20-39 PC Plus about 4 years ago I've experienced some strange popping sounds when watching certain movies that have a lot of bass. I think the sound is caused by the woofer bottoming out. I have all my speakers level matched so I don't have my sub playing louder than it should. I actually lowered it just a little bit to try and avoid this problem. Then one day after having many discussions on another forum about my lack of bass from my two front speakers I realized that the problem is most likely my room sucking out all the bass somehow. I heard that bass traps can fix this problem but I don't think that would work well for me because of the looks and there's no convenient place to mount them. The front right corner of my living room has a door that is used to get in and out so I can't put on there and behind my living room is the kitchen. So I thought what about adding a second sub? Would adding a second one help to take the load off the first one so that I'll have more headroom before the subs start to bottom out?
