Default Happy Birthday PlayStation

Today is the birthday of the PlayStation and the PlayStation brand.

15 years old!

What was your favorite memory?

Mine? Well it has to be playing Crash, Parappa The Rapper (?), Spyro, DDR and pissing my pants when I saw my cousin play Resident Evil Director's cut. PS2 memory has to be FFX, God of War and some more stuff and PS3 has to be Blu-ray and lining up for 3 nights to get a console on launch day and being awesome enough to be the last one in line able to get it.

Edit: Forgot to add, going to the PlayStation Store everytime I go to San Francisco

My favourite memory was using my graduation money to get a PSX and Final Fantasy VII and just playing it for hours. That reminds me, I need to DL that game off the PSN sometime in the near future.

Standing in line at my local Electronic Boutique (there was only maybe a total of 5-7 people, nowhere near the huge campouts for the PS2/PS3 years later) with my friends to purchase my first PS on launch day. I think I purchased Warhawk with the system and one of my friends bought Jumping Flash. Our other friend ended up buying Raiden Project with his PS, but later on returned the PS for a refund. He later indicated in so many words that it was a peer pressure thing that he bought his system, and that he couldn't justify owning one. Same guy who said that about all subsequent videogame consoles, but didn't hesitate in "borrowing" all of our systems so that he could play on them

But congratulations Sony and Playstation!

Well for me my first playstation console was the Playstation 2.

Which was the first console I bought on my own as an adult. This was like back in 2000 or 2001 when I was working a crappy helpdesk call center job that was paying maybe $1 or $2 bucks above minmum wage per hour. I was just fresh out of vocational school and needed to put experience on my resume back then.

Favorite memory was buying GTA III when the GTA franchise was not real known and didn't have all the HYPE and following the franchise now has today.

I remember playing the game with a friend who knew nothing about the GTA franchise and was shocked and thought how cool the type of stuff and game you could do in GTA III.

Yup and to think in a few years we might see the PlayStation 4, although I doubt Sony is in a hurry to put that one out.

my first memory of Playstation was when it first came out.
i remember for the longest time i had a N64 on my christmas list, but then my neighbor found out he was getting one so i changed my mind and asked for a N64. my parents later told me they had already bought and wrapped the N64 and had to take it back and get a Playstation

we open our presents on christmas eve, and when i opened that i was ecstatic!
i remember i had Madden, like 96? or something. Crash Bandicoot, some other games, and i remember i stayed up all night playing Madden. and i got all the way to the NFC Championship game with the 49ers and accidentally hit "sim" for the Championship game against the Cowboys and lost i was up for how many damn hours playing (14-2 regular season, #1 seed in the NFc ) only to accidentally hit a button and lose it all.

ahhh, nostalgia
good times though, good times.

It's great to see the Playstation was created and Sony entered the video game industry because Nintendo made mistake & blunder of backing out on a deal with Sony for them to make a CD-ROM drive for the Super Nintendo

Ah, the good times. My favorite games on the first PlayStation will always be Gran Turismo 1 & 2, and the first Metal Gear. Of course, right now I'm playing Kingdom Hearts II on the PS3 (my phat is compatible with PS2 games), but the PS2 was a great system to own. My favorite memory was playing the Sly Cooper games and the Gran Turismo games on the PS2.

To celebrate the first PlayStation's 15th anniversary, I'm thinking of downloading Final Fantasy VII from the PlayStation Store. I'm already celebrating right now with Kingdom Hearts II though.
