On the DVD bestsellers on Amazon, there are far more HD DVD movies being sold than blu-ray. PLUS the 1080i toshiba HD DVD player is the first in electronics! Is there some kind of news update that I didnt catch that is causing them to have this surge?

Is it due to the fact that the Paramount movies were released today (i.e. blades of glory) and everyone is trying to bump sales or what?

I believe it's because of the sell currently going on. When you buy current HD-DVD player you get 3 free movies along with 5 mail-in rebate. There is also about 55 HD-DVD movies currently on sell for Buy 2 Get 1 Free.

Blu-ray has the same thing going on with the PS3 and BLu-ray about 105 titles in there buy 2 get 1 free.

just one of those concerning statistics. You have HD DVD and blu ray running the same sale but HD DVD is out performing the surperior format...

Shit, now that means I gotta buy some movies now! HD DVD is draining my wallet. If it wasnt for them, I wouldnt continually order more and more movies... Damn them!

if you buy a ps3 you get 3 now for free and then 5 later. i remember seeing a thread maybe 2 days ago about a saying he was buying one that night or the next day. if only he were buying it now...
