Thumbs up Slipcovers - on or off?

Do you keep your slips on your blu's or not?

I'm getting really annoyed that some studios release them with and some without. I like having a uniform collection, so at the moment all the slips are under my bed. So, I just wanted to know what other people do with their slips...

I keep them on. I like the variety on the shelf, and it would drive me mad if every blu ray I had had to look completely the same.

Only thing is my comedy film shelf looks odd because not many comedies have been released with slips I guess.

I always keep mine on, because even though tehy're just pieces of card, they make the Blu-rays 'feel' more special if they stay on.

I don't understand why some do that, because if you're not going to put them on the cases then why put them in a box?
Because they'll just be sitting there doing nothing, since they're not being used, so you might as well throw them away if you're not going to keep them on the cases.

If you like them, then keep them on. If you don't, then throw them away. But by doing that, in my view, you're just splitting hairs.

I hate slip covers but I keep them on. Zodiac for example, the slipcover is a police file but the actual blu ray cover is an addressed envelope so you need the slipcover to complete the effect.

I keep them all under my bed BECAUSE they could be valuable. For example, people buy slipcovers on here. Maybe they'll become OOP and be worth a few quid each! Let's say I keep 10 slipcovers that are worth £3 each. If I throw them out, that's like throwing £30 in the bin.

Being a slipcover completest, you can guess my opinion . Although I do not buy blu-rays because it comes with a slipcover. All of my films I buy because I like. If a slipcover is included, thats even better . But if a movie in my collection came with a slip, and I do not have it, then the hunt is on .

For me, they all go sraight in the bin. Its a habit that comes from my dvd collecting days when I ended up with 700+ cases and nowhere left to shelve them. Removing 100 slipcases made considerable more room. Granted nowaways I try only to buy titles which I enjoy or are seen as classics of their genre.

It irks me to no end when I own a BD that originally came with a slipcover and I don't have it, so much so to the point where I would go out of my way to re-buy the movie with a slip (or just the slip if I can).

OCD, much?

I always keep them on, what's the point in taking them off? They are supposed to be there, I love them, they feel special.

Yeah I see your point, but I haven't really decided what to do with them. I'm either keeping them on or selling them. Not sure yet

Here is a good place to put up any slipcovers which you have, that you want to sell:

I've always kept them on.

I have always felt that studios miss an opportunity with the covers as in the vast majority of releases the slip art is exactly the same case art. I think the few instances e.g the above mentioned Zodiac and Dark Knight, where the slip and case art are different feel a bit more 'special'.

If the printing is exactly the same as the box then I bin them. I think they are pointless and a nuisance.

They're on at the moment but they're not allowed near their slipless counterparts because it gives them an inferiority complex.

My DVD's are the same - all in order of studio (from Arrow to Warner Bros.)apart from TV stuff which is alphabetical (from £rd Rock to The X-Files) and I need a proper shelving unit. A DIY job after Christmas hopefully. I like 'em apart from the security tag holes, in the old days if one side was crushed you could turn them round... you can't now.

And I generally won't buy a title which did have a slipcover but doesn't now.

I keep my slip covers

but if people want to get rid of them i suggest seling them on here. Some people (myself included) will happily pay a good price for them.

For example if you charge £5 for disney\pixar slips then you can get a new film after selling only 3 slips

I keep them on, but I only have a few anyway.

For the people who bin them, give it another thought. There's a thread dedicated to them on this forum, jump in there and sell 2 or 3 together.

I am exactly the same. Drag Me to Hell and Trick 'r Treat and Four Christmases (all imported from US) all came without slips, so I'm looking hard to see if I can get them.
