Can't wait to get this! Really hoping for a steelbook with the first poster as the front artwork. Best movie of year so far imo 10/10.

Hopefully either Amazon or Zavvi. I really hope its not exclusive to Entertainment Store. I'd much rather it be a reasonable price and readily available than limited in number and overpriced.

Entertainment Store unfortunately appear to have the steelbooks for new Paramount films so that includes Star Trek. Zavvi only seem to do back catalogue Paramount.

As I said in one of the other threads hope if it is ES they get a decent edition size of 4k+ copies. However expect to pay the best part of £30 .

ES don't have exclusive rights to all new Paramount titles. No store has exclusive rights to a studios steelbooks. Its quite likely that places like Zavvi and Amazon had no interest in having steelbooks for Jack Reacher, Hansel and Gretel and Gi Joe retaliation (all 3 films were flops) and ES just got their greedy mitts on them. Star Trek however will be a big title. I expect (and hope) that Zavvi or Amazon will out bid ES for the Star Trek steelbook.

There is a demand but its not the same as titles like Iron Man 3 and Star trek into darkness. Demand for these titles will be huge and I don't think Paramount would be happy giving out exclusive rights to a limited run of steelbooks to a company like ES.

Will wait for the steelbook. If I like it, I'll get it. If I don't then I'll go with the 3D version (especially if it comes with a sexy lenticular slip).
...or perhaps I'll get both since I love the film so much

Jack Reacher and GI Joe did well enough for sequels to be planned, GI 3 even had a release date

Hope Amazon or Zavvi put out a steel with the IMAX poster as the artwork, would be perfect to match the '09 SteelBook.

In the US, perhaps, certainly not once worldwide gross is accounted for. Far from it.

Hollywood won't admit that, though.

Star Trek Into Darkness
Domestic: $200,140,000 - 53.2%
Foreign: $176,400,000 - 46.8%
Worldwide: $376,540,000

It is doing just fine for a niche sci-fi flick

United Kingdom release date

Amazon have recently posted a release date for the blu ray over here for September 2nd. Sainsbury's also have the same date it is up for pre order already on amazon and Sainsbury's have a bogus pre order date 2020 or something but this proves this is the real blu ray release date for the uk. Brilliant news if you ask me as that's quite early in sept plus iron man 3 early august they are really striking the iron while it is hot!
