all of those listings were dubious to begin with, unfortunately. These listings have every appearance of being legitimate.

Studios and labels are still free to cancel releases on a whim, but at this point the 4k release would seem to be in greater danger, at least if pre-orders were the deciding factor.

Ah no.... When both are offered, 4K is outselling 3D at least 2:1

Amazon stats are as reliable as their actual profit margin.

Dreamworks soon to be under the control, if not already under Universal, who generally don't support blu ray 3D in the US since Seventh Son 3D a few years back. Even if another distributor still has the rights to release this on home video, it's possible Universal's influence is affecting the home video strategy in the US. But hopefully that blu ray 3D image is a hopeful sign, thanks Interdimensional.

Depends on the movie. The larger portion of 4k sales represent consumers switching over from standard bluray. Those are not lost 3D sales.

Universal continue to release Illumination's animated titles in 3D. Both Sing and Secret life of Pets both have 3D releases currently out-ranking their UHD releases, at least according to Amazon.

I know some people who said this was a fun movie, though they only saw the 2D version so I can't report on the 3D yet.

Huh? Universal has been fairly consistent in supporting Blu-ray 3D. I would recommend looking through this site's database to see all of the Universal 3D titles - the most recent of which is Sing 3D.

Anyways, glad to see Boss Baby is getting a 3D release!

Yes but Homemediamagazine's weekly report are actual full POS results which include most retailers including Amazon. Their percentages of unit sales are much more accurate than Amazon's sales rankings.

Boss Baby and Captain Underpants will be released by Fox. Universal will not even release a new Dreamworks Animation title until 2019.

Universal has been off and on with a couple titles in the US, but you're right about them being reliable with other titles. I was thinking of more 3D titles that didn't make it here in the USA but they're from other distributors.

Two that need to be imported:
Seventh Son 3D blu ray: Not in USA
The Great Wall 3D 2017 blu ray: Not in USA

Both of those deserved a 3D blu ray release in the US but looks like Great Wall won't be getting one, requiring an import like Seventh Son 3D.

Jurassic World 3D blu ray: sold in USA
Everest 3D blu ray: sold in USA
Warcraft 3D blu ray: sold in USA
Sing 3D blu ray: sold in USA

So it's good to see more than less even though not all were released on blu ray 3D here. I keep thinking Return of Xander Cage 3D is under Universal but it's Paramount. Paramount dropped Monster Trucks 3D, but now it looks like Xander Cage 3D blu ray could be back on the shelves hopefully in the US. It's all over the place lately with RE Final Chapter 3D, Underworld Blood Wars 3D, etc. Hopefully those will be 3D exclusives with Best Buy versus none.

I saw Boss Baby in 3-D today, and it was definitely worth it.

High-Medium to Strong 3-D similar to Kung Fu Panda 3, and plenty of pop-outs. The story was entertaining in the beginning, but started running out of steam towards to the end. I was still entertained, and I'll definitely consider purchasing this on Blu-Ray 3-D.

Good to hear, thanks Revgen. Glad the 3D lives up to Dreamworks' quality stereo 3D goals. I hope them aim for the strong 3D of Madagascar 3 3D more often too.

The new Captain Underpants 3D trailer from Dreamworks has high medium 3D, very nice. Saw it in theaters before Smurfs Lost Village 3D, which had medium 3D.

the official release date for The Boss Baby is on July 25th, 3d version included among side the 2d and 4k UHD blu ray versions.
