LG Display eyeing passive polarization 3D technology, while Samsung, Sony developing active shutter technology

While Samsung Electronics and Sony have launched 3D TVs based on active shutter technology, LG Display has partnered with Vizio and Amtran Technology to promote passive polarization 3D TV technology, according to sources with Taiwan's LCD TV makers.
