Default Anyone watched 300 on Blu-Ray?

While the movie plays perfectly, the bonus material has the audio out of sync by several seconds. I expected everything to be perfect when spending $30 on a movie :[

I will come clean. none of us here actually owns 300 on blu ray. the attach rates are so bad only 1 person is buying blu ray movies. they bought every copy of 300 that was available. its because we spent soooo much on our players we can't afford the discs. I suppose that's why hd dvd is nice enough to hand out 500 free discs with every $5 hd dvd player.....wait.....what was this thread about again? i've been reading a lot of avs and hdd lately. (hdd is actually pretty ok).

I haven't had any problems. you don't have several miles of wire between your receiver and your speaker do you? that could be the problem.

I had no playback issues with 300 on my PS3. I will say that I was disappointed with the PQ. After seeing Blackhawk Down, Pirates 1 & 2, and now confirmed with Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, I can say that 300 was just not done as well. It's a great movie and still looked great, way better than the DVD, but just not nearly as stunning as other blu-rays I've seen. Just my 0.02.

I played it using WinDVD BD, on my Sony Vaio Laptop. I installed a WinDVD update for Blu-ray but the extras are still messed up.

i believe the director wanted 300 to look a little bit grainy for dvd, hd-dvd, and blu-ray on purpose

The special features are horrible quality, and in the wrong aspect ratio. I don't know if my TV was supposed to automatically adjust to it or what, but it didn't. You have to hit a button on my TV remote to get the special features to appear in the correct AR. I read that Spidey 3 has 4:3 features hard matted to 16:9, this sounds like a great idea.

You're comparing movies that have Blu-Ray specific encodes to a movie (300) that is encoded to the lowest common denominator. WB uses the same encode for both BR and HD DVD releases.

So in short - thank HD DVD for the lower PQ when compared to those other movies you listed.

Default 300

300 was intentially grainy with all kinda of weird contrast added. I HATE when filmmakers put grain in the film to give it a certain look. Imagine 300 if the director didn't add all that video noise!!

Yeah, then it wouldn't look like it's supposed to . . .

Well that explains it then. Thanks for telling me. I knew BD technology wasn't to blame. So the blame rests with WB. The next poster says this was done with an intentional graininess. Is that true? If so, I don't really like that style I guess. Just makes it look low quality to me.
