I believe those were released in Europe, at least El Cid was. However, the quality wasn't very good, so I wouldn't buy them.

Good topic for discussion, which begs the question, "Why so few great film epics on Blu-ray?"

Where's:

Ben Hur
Khartoum
The Agony and the Ecstasy
55 Days at Peking
The Ten Commandments
The Vikings
Prince Valiant
Cleopatra
El Cid

Saw that for the first time yesterday, a great film. I pretty much knew nothing about it before seeing it, but it has become one of my favorite Kubrick films.

Got to see it on Netflix Instant Watch in HD, should be pretty awesome on Blu-ray.

Love those! HBO should really do a mini-series on Washington.

El Cid and The Fall of the Roman Empire were released in Germany.
While the quality may not be as good as it could have been, but it's not terrible by any means, and most likely they will never be released in better bd versions anytime soon imo.
FOTRE looks a bit better than El Cid.
dvdbeaver has reviews of both discs that are mostly favorable.
imo they are well worth importing, and are good "hidden" bd classics that most people know nothing about.
they are region b locked however.
btw Sinbad75--Prince Valiant is out in the UK region free on Eureka; Ben Hur coming next year; The Agony and Ecstasy is coming from Fox I thought they indicated this year but no announcement yet for some reason; El Cid out in Germany as indicated, though locked.

To the OP, be patient, there will be more.

And Mutiny on the Bounty (the Gable version) will be out very soon.
