Ascend and Axiom are internet direct companies. Swan speakers are bought through dealers. The Audio Insider is one authorized online Swan dealer.

Ascend speakers are excellent MTM speakers. You should buy them only if you own one or two capable subwoofers.

Axiom M60 and Swan 6.1 are tower speakers. Both are very good speakers.

If money is a concern and you already own a good subwoofer, buy Ascend. If money is no object, buy the Swan speakers. Although Axiom M60 speakers are excellent, I am biased toward the silky smooth sound of European drivers. Being a crazy tweaker and a big fan of DIY speakers, I love HiVi for their excellent speaker drivers

Thanks for the input BD. I Have a little under 2000$ I can spend for a full 5.0 setup ... I would like the speakers to be able to pull double duty for music and Ht I have only recently been getting into 2 channel music and am enjoying it but Ht still comes first in my book. Im hoping I will be about to hit a point of diminishing returns lol

Between those three choices, I think you would be happiest with the Swan Diva 6.1 speakers. Those are a great value for the sound quality and will satisfy all but the most refined speaker tastes.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with playing two-channel music in 2.1 format. The low frequency bass waves create more of a problem in a small home theater room. Even if you have large full-range front speakers, it is normally best to let the strategically placed subwoofer(s) handle the lower frequencies.
