Default NEED help with thin center channel!!!

I have a buddy that has to mount his center channel on the mantle of his fireplace. He can only go 6" deep max, but wants to get top sound, under $300 is the budget, and is pairing with Polk R50's for front stage. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Wall mountable would be a plus to get above the mantle rather than sitting on it. Thanks guys.

Personally I can only think about the Mythos 7 on Wall/Table Top center 4 inches deep. It's 400$ retail tho but maybe you can find a deal somewhere.

I'm sure BD will step in with several solutions.

You could also look at the Cinema 330 from Paradigm.

Level Three Center Speaker from Home Theater Direct (HTD), $200:
http://www.htd.com/Products/center-c...hannel-Speaker

Wall mount Bracket, $18:
http://www.htd.com/Products/Single-B...y-Duty-Bracket

You will not be able to get a better center speaker for $200. It is very sophisticated and well engineered with ribbon tweeter. It comes in three colors and all reviews are excellent.

Although its depth is 9", I highly recommend that you attach it to the wall with its dedicated bracket. The advantage is that the bracket is flexible and you can change the direction of the speaker so that it can directly point to your head.

If you really want a flat speaker that performs well, looks great, and costs only $150, then Home Theater Direct makes such a speaker.

HTD Flat Panel Speaker, 4 1/4" depth, $150:

I really love HTD's front speakers. They are $800 a pair and come in three colors.

My top recommendation is the Home Theater Direct's Level Three center speaker with ribbon tweeter. However, these are some additional options. My second choice after HTD speaker is the Crystal Acoustics center speaker. Their speakers look a little like B&W speakers with tweeters on top.
