Default IFA..Stupid question

Ok. I have read all about this great news. Here is a stupid question. Is all of this news only specific to Europe? I was under the impression that these announcements were for the US too.

I believe it's for the US too. IFA is more of "worldwide" event.

What is the difference between IFA and CEDIA? Announcements for different locals?
