Katie Cassidy Going To 'Georgetown'

Just last night I was thinking how much I wished Katie Cassidy and Michelle Trachtenburg would be on a show I could actually bring myself to watch, cause I ain't ever going to watch Gossip Girl. But there those two babes are always in the previews. Anyways, today I see my wish has been half answered. I was also a big fan of James Wolk's performance on the two whole episodes we got of Lone Star, so I am definitely in for this one.

Melrose Place and Gossip Girl alum Katie Cassidy is returning to the primetime soap fold.

Cassidy has been cast opposite Lone Star‘s James Wolk in ABC’s drama pilot Georgetown. The hourlong project centers around the young people behind the power brokers of Washington, DC. The main protagonist Andrew Pierce (Wolk) is an effortlessly charming and brilliant Yale graduate and the youngest Presidential speech-writer on record who was once idealistic but is now cynical as he sees how compromise has eroded the administration’s promise. Cassidy will play Nikki, a smart and quick-witted junior staffer in the White House Communications Office with connections to the First Lady. Nikki, who is also a model, is friends and roommates with Andrew. Cassidy’s credits also include The CW’s Supernatural and CBS’ Harper’s Island.
