Why? Wasn't the 3rd film still profitable?

What does making a series have to do with the profits of the movies? Another movie has already been announced.

Cause everything is a universe. John Wick is extremely profitable but is still getting a TV spin-off lol

I would rather they just put all their effort and focus into getting a quality 4th movie out sooner rather than later. The wait between these movies is WAY too long.

I feel like HBOMax/Max/Whatever should just stop with all the Warner Bros. property series, and worry more about how they feel the need to keep rebranding themselves every three months.

I don’t believe so. I think the film will be released in 2025 and maybe the tv series will follow the film plot wise. It’s has been speculated that this will be the last Conjuring film.

That’s not based on any official news, just my thinking.

Oh i really do not hope its the last Conjuring movie it would be a mistake to stop such a highly successful franchise and only continue to do a streaming show for it suddenly.

I think the quality has dropped with each one to be honest. The first was top notch, the second was very good and the last one was decent but not as good as the second.
I hope they make a belter of a fourth then wrap the films up. Nothing worse than a series that doesn’t know when to stop. We would still have four films to rewatch and enjoy.

However, I understand you wanting them to carry on beyond a fourth. I just feel they won’t be that special anymore with the series and then more films. Over saturation if you will?

The thing is they have so many cases the Warrens investigated they could pull from. So i do not see over saturation happen just yet. Scream is 6 movies in and its still a highly liked franchise and its right now at its biggest success they storyline is also very good still having a blast with the Scream movies and already hoping they announce part 7 soon. So i think The Conjuring franchise can have a life like Scream.

If Patrick and Vera are indeed in their usual roles then I’m possibly interested. I like the films and their characters. If it deviates too much or they end up not involved then bye.

I would like to see the series provide back stories on some of the artifacts held in the Warren's "trophy room". Kind of like how they treated the first two Annabelle movies, where it was all about how Annabelle tormented the families, and Ed and Lorraine Warren were not involved. Ed and Lorraine should be used sparingly in the series, if at all.

I'm down for this if they can go more kitsch with a "ghost a week" approach.

If the two leads are on board with cases based on the Warren's investigations, then it's a very good idea. The last Conjuring film was terrible, probably it was less well received because visually it didn't look that interesting as it deviated stylistically way too much from the assured style of the two before. They're probably going into television now, because the format lends itself so well to different weekly stories just like Kolchak did back in the 1970s, although I'd also be up for a fourth film with the Warrens provided the old charm returns.

It’s Vera Farmiga, of course the charm will still be there.

That's true enough, I can watch her in (almost) anything I would though prefer them taking the classy approach opposed to any cheap tricks of our time, like that third film after all these cases date back decades why lose that spirit (no pun intended). These films took off with a certain aesthetic style, I think they should stick with that. If they get that right, I'm there otherwise not much point really in neither a new film or a TV series. Come to think of it, even her younger sister could play the part too, if need be.
