Default Help matching front speakers

Hi everyone,
i built an economical 5.1 setup 2 years ago (considered your recommendations). So i have Onkyo 605 and Polk Rm 6750 speakers.
anyway, i just blew my front speaker and need help choosing a compatible front speakers. I think i want floor standing ones for front. Will probably leave center and satellites. Does anyone know halfway decent floor standing speakers that will work well with my setup? thanks

Yeah...$150 is not really much at all. One of the cheapest floorstands around are the Polk Audio Monitor50 Series II, and those run you $94.99 each + Shipping. So 2 of those will run you 189.98 + shipping. That already goes over your budget, and we're not even covering the problem that will create. The problem is that the fronts might overpower the center, and it will not sound natural. Sure, you can level them with an SPL meter, but I don't feel any tower will match well with small plastic satellites.

Your options here, are to either buy replacements for the speakers that die, like this Polk Audio RM6751 that cost $34.90 + shipping, each. OR, you can use your surrounds as Fronts in a 3.1 setup until you can save up a more substantial budget.

I was you, I would pick the last option. Just run with 3.1 until you are able to afford 3 fronts speakers. Either get 3 of the same towers for fronts, or if you have space problems, you can get 2 towers and the matching center.
But honestly, don't buy 2 towers to replace your current dead speakers and be done with with, because you are simply solving a problem to create another.

So yeah, that's my opinion. Lets see what others have to say.

You could get the same thing not sure if you look for an upgrade at the mean time.

The RM6751 sats are at 49$ each at Vanns to replace your 2 dead ones not sure what blew them.

Or you could do the following.

Fluance speakers are for people with limited budgets. Fluance is a Canadian company based in Niagara Falls, Ontario. They sell speakers to both Canadian and U.S. markets.

Cadence is another company that sells good value speakers. Their subwoofers get very good ratings on the AVS Forum and are reasonably priced.
