Hi everyone,
i built an economical 5.1 setup 2 years ago (considered your recommendations). So i have Onkyo 605 and Polk Rm 6750 speakers. anyway, i just blew my front speaker and need help choosing a compatible front speakers. I think i want floor standing ones for front. Will probably leave center and satellites. Does anyone know halfway decent floor standing speakers that will work well with my setup? thanks |

Your options here, are to either buy replacements for the speakers that die, like this Polk Audio RM6751 that cost $34.90 + shipping, each. OR, you can use your surrounds as Fronts in a 3.1 setup until you can save up a more substantial budget. I was you, I would pick the last option. Just run with 3.1 until you are able to afford 3 fronts speakers. Either get 3 of the same towers for fronts, or if you have space problems, you can get 2 towers and the matching center. But honestly, don't buy 2 towers to replace your current dead speakers and be done with with, because you are simply solving a problem to create another. So yeah, that's my opinion. Lets see what others have to say. |

Cadence is another company that sells good value speakers. Their subwoofers get very good ratings on the AVS Forum and are reasonably priced.
