How good are Marantz receivers? SR5003 - Blu-ray Forum

Been looking for a new receiver.im sure most know about it here.

,ive been asking about the ONYKO or a sony.but..How good are these Marantz receivers?.I had 1 many many years ago"15yrs" ago,and it rocked,how are they now..?..Thx fellas

It does not have too much power, but if for use at lower volume, it's ok.
The 6003 would be much better for hundred bucks more. And the 7002 for an additional $50 is a no-brainer.

* What is your main goal, Music or Movies or both? ...Probably both. %?
What speakers do you have right now (brand & model #s)?

Do you know you can get the Onkyo TX-SR607 for only $250 from the same place?
And the Onkyo HT-RC180 is the same price that the Marantz SR5008? ...Again from the same place.
