Default Anyone else dislike Tim Burton's style?

After watching Coraline with my girlfriend I came to a conclusion that aside from Big Fish, I absolutely hate Tim Burton's style. I know I will get an angry mob after me for saying this but in my opinion, Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas (along with his other films) are total garbage.

Anyone else not a fan of his style?

Coraline was by Henry Selick, not Tim Burton. I like Burton a lot and I probably always will. He's one of my top 10 living filmmakers.

Ah, bad info on my part. Guess I should never just take a woman's word for it.

It was VERY similar to Corpse Bride so I can see why someone would think Burton made it but no pretty sure he wasn't involved with it at all. Nope he wasn't, unless IMDb is lying.

Tim Burton also didn't direct The Nightmare Before Christmas, though it was inspired by a poem he wrote.

Nope, your right. Burton had nothing to do with Coraline. that was all Henry Selick, the man who directed The Nightmare Before Christmas. Which most people don't realize, they think Burton did it

But I've always loved Burton's style, it's visually cool and there's only one movie he's made I didn't like. So I'll stand behind him, he's one of my favorite directors

I love Tim Burton! However the only movie of his I don't really care for is Corpse Bride. Gave it 2 chances but didn't stick.

That wasn't Tim's either. (That was Mike Johnson's.)

Which brings up the rather messy point that Tim has NEVER directed any animated movie with his name on it...

So...will Addams family be the first one or will he just be the guy behind the guy again?

He actually co-directed it. That counts right?

So he did! Or so he did, according to IMDb.com.

Well of course it does. It's no different to having a co-writer or co-producer, he still directed it.

To me, anyone that thinks Tim Burton's films are "Dark" have not watched a David Lynch film. Compare anything Burton has done that is as disturbing as "Eraserhead".

Well, THAT brings us back to Tim Burton films...

(So, which one was more openly misogynist, Alice, Sleepy Hollow, or "Batman Returns"?)

How about none? I never got that vibe watching any of those. I'd say Mars Attacks! but the aliens targeted everyone.
