From FB:
**NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT** Horror legends Tobe Hooper, Robert Englund and Stephen King teamed up for 1995’s bone-crunching tale of THE MANGLER—which is coming to Blu-ray for the first time from us on December 11th! Based on King’s short story, this white-knuckle chiller follows a cop (Ted Levine) as he investigates a series of grisly accidents … and uncovers a deadly town secret that has been hidden for years – a terrifying entity that threatens to destroy everything in its path. With time running out and a young girl's life in the balance, he races to destroy the beast before it's too late! Extras are in progress and will be announced on a later date but we can confirm today that we have a new interview with Englund! We are also aware of the unrated cut of the film and are trying our best to secure a version of it for our release. Additionally, cover will be reversible and will feature the “sharp red” title treatment art that was commonly seen on VHS back in the day. |

I actually like this movie. I think I last watched it about 10 years ago, but I do remember liking it. I saw it a few times as a kid too.
I'll probably pick this up early depending on what the special features look like. |

Same! I actually really like the movie. It's super dumb but a lot of fun. Robert is hamming it up big time and plays a disgusting character. I'm very excited about this, I almost bought the mediabook from Germany a few months ago. Glad I didn't and can save some money here.

Can't say I've ever heard of this one before today. It looks terrible in a way that only an early to mid 90's horror film can be... which of course means I'm interested in picking it up. With each year that goes by I find that I have a 90's nostalgia itch that can only be scratched by titles just like this. These are the kind of weird/fun announcements I'm almost always interested in picking up.

I... I can't argue with that... because it's certainly better than the sequel, Mangler Reborn.
At Boston Comic Con 2017, Jim Cummings (mostly known as the voice of Winnie the Pooh) talked about how he got hired to do the voice of the Mangler machine. He didn't want to do it, since it's basically just making a bunch of weird noises, you know, because it's a machine. So he demanded a huge sum of money to do it and they actually agreed so he was like, "well, if they want to waste their money". He did the noises and was kind of ashamed that he even worked on the film, since it's so bad, but fortunately for him they messed up his credit in the film and put it under "Tim Cummings" instead of "Jim Cummings" so he got the money and basically pulled an Alan Smithee without trying. Unfortunate though for the actual Tim Cummings... |
