I have a samsung BD-P1600 player and a Onkyo HT-R667 reciever. I have the reciever settings on HDMI - Through.
This handshaking issue I've been dealing with for the last few months and for the most part figured out how to get the player to find the signal each time I would turn things on. My routine would go as follows: Reciever would have to warm up for about 15-20 mins before a signal could be found. once that time has been reached I would do these following steps I: Switch reciever from watching DTV to DVD button via remote II: Turn BD power on III: Switch TV Feed from DTV to BD Pooffff BD player has connected and I can watch a movie. Last night I was ready to watch Prince of Persia and within the first 30 min of the movie the audio started to skip and it would throw the lipsync off. Now I've read that this sammy P1600 has problems reading some DTS-MA tracks for some reason or another and I've had issue like this before on a few discs but again I've just dealt with it and moved on. However I was so pissed off that this was happening again I decided to do a firmware update on the player since I had only done one since I got this player. I followed the link from this site to the current FW for the 1600 and uploaded it on the player. Figuring this could fix the audio playback issues on some of the newer blu movies. Well now that I have uploaded the new FW, I've gotton the handshaking issue all over again. I've tried various ways to get it to come on and the reciever seems to not want to connect to the player. I don't have lots of cash to go out and purchase a new reciever or player at this moment and if anyone can suggest a solution will be greatly appreciated. Now if I connect the BD player directly to the TV's hdmi port, the signal comes on instantly. But I won't have full HD surround sound. What kind of connection can I go with if I have the player connected to the TV in order to get hd surround? my TV is the samsung 550 model. thanks in advance |
