Default BDA web site...outdated!

If you go over to the BDA official web site you will see how they have neglected to update this thing for some time. For their players list it shows gen 1 players. For the movie section the most recent title's...well they are not at all that recent. It still lists Paramount as one of the companies supporting Blu-ray on the home page...

Now for most of us we are familiar with the format and what it has to offer, etc., etc. However for this war to be over we need not only content, but more mainstream acceptance in the consumer arena. You would think that the BDA would constanty update this website with more information...well current information to inform and educate the general public. So many consumers rely on good information on the Internet, and most start at the home page for the manufacturer of a product or at an associations home page.

What do you all think?

BDA needs to do something. When there is a site totally dedicated to Blu-ray, It must be made up to date with any changes. this wouldn't look good for their potential customers.

Guess they are leaving it up to places like blu-ray.com to keep everyone up to date. Makes you appreciate our moderators even more.

Thats all well and good, and I agree this place is the best place I have found for blu-ray information and community, however consumers love content. They love pretty flash animations, video, easy navigation. Consumers unfortunately base a lot of their buying on what looks the best, what looks more professional, and what has more up to date information. I have to admit to you...I personally like the set up of the official HD-DVD's web site, it looks very clean, professional, easy to navigate, etc. This is what consumers look for and if the BDA could arrange something like this I think that would be a good start to swinging the general consumer our way.

This is true, but I have come to think about it like this. When has BDA rushed around to do anything? I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that they are thinking things through and will eventually launch a website that will make our jaws drop--however, in reality I know this is more likely not to happen, but I can give them a bit of slack.

This is true, I actually went to Blu-ray.com before I even decided to get a Blu system. The general population tend to just type in the product's/company's name then .com to see information on it.
